When did that happen?

Everything around us is constantly changing. Technology, music, people change our opinions of what is right and wrong seem to change. What is accepted today was shunned 10 years ago. Something as simple as marriage is now even up for debate. What is right what is wrong who gets to decide? Do the courts get to decide? We live in a Democracy should we put it up for a vote and let popular opinion decide? Who gets to decide these things?

I noticed Webster has decided for us! http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/marriage When did this happen? No one asked me and I’m guessing they didn’t inform you either. It’s times like these when I fall back on the fact that my God never changes!

Mal 3:6 I the Lord do not change

A wonderful truth is that the one true God never changes, his desires, his will for us even his plans for us never change! God is not influence by politics, culture, and popular opinion. Which means what was wrong and harmful for us in Noah’s day is wrong and harmful today.

Faith - Would it be easier to have faith in God if we could have walked with Jesus?

Would it be easier to have faith in God if only we could have been alive and followed Jesus and witnessed him walk on the water or raise the dead? There was a time even I would have answered of course, who wouldn't believe if they could have seen these things..... Recently I found this passage in the bible.....

John 14:6, 7 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."

8Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us." 9Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?

Phillip has answered the age old question for us! After God was with Phillip for in the person of Jesus the Christ for 3 years It was not easier for Phillip to have faith in God. The bible teaches that we walk by faith not by sight.

God spoke to me in Florida

James 4:13-15
13Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." 16As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil.

As you may know our family just return from a relaxing week in Destin, Florida. As i was standing on the balcony overlooking the ocean i was reminded that just 5 years earlier my family wasn't relaxing on a beach but asking, begging, praying that God would heal me from a ruptured brain aneurysm (which he did). This day i watched them as they relaxed and enjoying one another and the beach.

The above verse came to my mind. We simply don't know what tomorrow brings. As i looked past my family for a moment i noticed the other people on the beach enjoying the "good life" what would tomorrow hold for them? What illness, tragedy would they be facing tomorrow bring for them? Would they be ready for eternity and more the importantly what exactly am i doing to guarantee that they are ready for eternity?

We have to "GET IN THE BOAT" if these people are to be rescued! If you missed the first message in the go fish series download it from our website.
